Business Operations Manager

Position Summary:

Thrive is seeking a detail-minded, self-motivated individual to join our Firm as an experienced Business Operations Manager.  We’re looking for someone who can oversee and execute the daily business functions of running an RIA. Position Responsibilities: 

    • Manage Client Billing Process
    • Support Accounting Functions
      1. Payroll
      2. Bill Pay
      3. Quick Books reconciliation
      4. Employee Expense Tracking
    • Manage Insurance Coverages
      1. Renewals
      2. Audits
    • Interface with our outsourced Compliance Attorneys to ensure 100% compliance
      1. Update U4s & U5s and as needed
      2. Run monthly Household reports
      3. Run Quarterly 13F & Trade Blotter reports
      4. Review and Maintain compliance documents with attorneys as needed
        • Policies & Procedures
        • Code of Ethics
        • Agreements
      5. Prepare data for annual ADV filing
        • Ensure data in the Orion Compliance Dashboard is maintained accurately
      6. Submit marking material for review as needed
      7. Coordinate annual compliance meeting for employees with attorneys
      8. Manage surprise examinations/audits of custody accounts with independent auditor
    • Human Resources
      1. Recruiting for Thrive job openings as needed
      2. Conduct initial interviews
      3. Onboard New Employees as needed
      4. Conduct annual HR meeting
      5. Ensure employee handbook and other materials are updated as needed
    • Technology
      1. Serve as the firm’s main contact with technology provider for scheduled maintenance, software and hardware upgrades
    • Special projects as assigned 

Candidate Qualifications & Attributes:

    • You’ve got a real passion for error free work and love streamlined processes 
    • You jump at the challenge to find creative solutions
    • You have demonstrated a love of learning new things and take pride in sharing your knowledge with others 
    • Prior experience working in an Advisory, Accounting or Insurance Firm,

Skills:

  • Knowledge of working with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks is required. Working knowledge of payroll, insurance and compliance is a plus.
